Methodology

RWA Tracker measures tokenized real-world assets from public data. Figures refresh every hour; the data on this page is as of Oct 5, 2026. Every number links back to its source, and the full dataset isfree to download.

Sources

  • DefiLlama covers every protocol in its RWA category. For these products, "onchain value" is DefiLlama's measure of the assets held onchain (its TVL figure for the product). Where DefiLlama publishes a per-chain split and daily history, we use them.
  • CoinGecko provides prices and market caps for tokens in its real-world-assets category and its narrower tokenized asset categories (treasuries, gold, stocks, private credit and others). Tokens that DefiLlama doesn't track are shown with their CoinGecko market cap, marked "mc" in tables.
  • Issuer documents: the "key facts" on asset pages (who can invest, structure, custodian) come from each issuer's own pages, linked under the table. Terms change, so always check with the issuer.

History

When DefiLlama publishes at least 30 days of history for a product, charts use it. Many large products, including some of the biggest tokenized treasury funds, have no public history there, so RWA Tracker records every product's value once a day and charts its own series. Category, chain and issuer charts only show days where products with data account for at least 90% of today's value, so a product's history starting doesn't show up as fake growth.

Asset classes

Each asset is assigned to one or more classes from DefiLlama's RWA tags and CoinGecko's categories. The first match is its main class, which decides where it is counted:

What the market total counts

  • Stablecoins are excluded. USDT, USDC and other fiat-backed dollar tokens are not counted.
  • Platform tokens are excluded. Governance and utility tokens of RWA platforms and chains (ONDO, LINK, PLUME and similar) are listed on the RWA tokens page, but their market cap isn't asset value, so it isn't added to totals.
  • No double counting. When a DefiLlama product already includes a token (for example Ondo Yield Assets includes USDY and OUSG), the token keeps its own page but is not added again.
  • Per-chain values are a floor. Products on several chains that don't publish a split are listed on each chain page without a value, so chain totals only include what can be attributed.

Which pages are indexed

Every asset gets a page, but small assets without hand-checked facts (under $1M onchain value, or under $10M market cap for CoinGecko-only tokens) are kept out of search results until they grow or get a profile.
